We want to say thank you to our volunteers who contributed thousands of hours and energy to help African Aid Organization, Inc. (AFAID) to effectively assist children and women infected with, or affected by HIV/AIDS and the hardship of extreme poverty. Without their generous contribution, AFAID would not be overcoming the challenges faced by young boys and girls in sub-Saharan Africa, a region that still bears an unreasonable share of the global HIV/AIDS burden.

Their actions and imagination allow us to accomplish our goals and meet the HIV prevention and skills building needs of the communities. AFAID recognizes they willingness to donate their valuable time as they are actively revealing their collective power to bring positive changes in their respective environments.

Very true sentiments. It is a simliar situation in Asia-Pacific & it doesn’t help that my country (Papua New Guinea) has the leading number of STI prevalence in the region! There have been so many initiatives to combat diseases regarding sexual and reproductive health (specifically among youths & adolescents), inclusive of HIV/AIDS, but these aren’t effective If we are truly serious about tackling these issues,we have to start thinking OUTSIDE THE BOX! Looking forward to meeting you all in NEW DELHI, & remember that whatever little you’re doing is contributing towards something much greater! Best wishes

I’ll list some not well known facts.1.) Contrary to popular beilef, there are people who are immune. A small fraction of people of European descent are mising a key part of the white blood cells HIV needs to infect you. These people are immune to all of the most common strains of HIV2.) If you get exposed to HIV, not everyone gets infected. The percentage of people who get infected is reduced if you get masive doses of HIV drugs in the first few hours after exposure.
