African Aid Organization, Inc. (AFAID) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Washington, DC. Its mission is to provide youth with the tools, knowledge and resources to protect themselves against HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, and alleviate poverty. We currently focus our intervention in three countries in sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Uganda, but we intend to expand into more countries in the near future. We are funded through donations from private individuals, foundations, and businesses. All public donations fund our programs, while corporate donations fund our operating and fundraising costs. Your donation allows us to continue helping these vulnerable children.
More than two decades into the AIDS epidemic, Children/youth in its path remain at grave risk. The risks are many, as children affected by HIV/AIDS may experience poverty, homelessness, hopelessness, school drop-out, discrimination, loss of life opportunity and early death.
Our objectives are intended to address the very factors that contribute to the spread of HIV/AIDS infection. Due to the extreme poverty among the youth we serve, priority is given to basic needs, such as food and school supplies. We will continue to help educate these children so that they can overcome illiteracy. We know that too many children live in silence with the harsh reality of poverty, hunger, and HIV/AIDS, and we work to help to restore hope and joy to these children’s lives. We will continue to invest all that we can in these children in order to help build a brighter future for them.
